Under this plan, Gujarati language will be compulsory for Class 8 in academic year 2018.
According to the government, Gujarati schools will be mandated as secondary or third languages ​​in these schools. GCERT will propose this matter. Chief Minister Rupana gave guidance on this in Gandhinagar Education Department's Chintan Shibir. Earlier, in an earlier program in Ahmedabad, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the number of children going missing in Gujarati and the statistics of non-Gujarati students.

The Chief Minister said that education is the foundation of development. If the quality of teaching is not good then the development will remain incomplete. The state government allocates Rs 25,000 crore for education every year. Each year, 80,000 students of poor, dalit, disadvantaged and laborer families in 34000 government schools receive education.
